The challenges and goals: Improve the Solar Decathlon brand so it better captures the spirit, power and innovative technology of this global competition.
The big idea: We built a radiant brand based on the tagline "Time to Shine," which speaks to the competitors' aspirations, the competitive spirit, the increasing profile of solar energy as a leading option, and the rising career options within solar energy. An updated, modern logo and sophisticated graphic approach all resulted in a brand that resonates with all stakeholders: the youthful competitors, the Department of Energy and the Fortune level corporations involved in the competition.
The result: Our work has helped reconnect the brand with the reality of today's Solar Decathlon competition. It has infused new life into the competition's communications.
